My Family History
Burgess Meets Lowery In Indiana
Search
Welcome! In January of 1946, Toddy Lowery introduced his baby brother, Morrell, to the young lady who lived across the street, Margaret Burgess. In a comparatively short time, on February 19,1946, they were married in Needmore, Indiana. Thus begins the story of my existence. While this site is devoted to the Burgess and Lowery families from which I have descended, I wish to dedicate it to four individuals in particular. I never met these people, as they had all died prior to my birth. However, I feel that I have known them my entire life.
They have a few things in common - First, we visited and paid our respects at their graves on Memorial Day for as long as I can remember. So, they've just always felt like "family", which they are, but, well, it's hard to explain. Secondly, none have any known descendants. Nor, as far as I know, anyone left alive who even knew them. This makes me very sad. For them of course, but I know that, one day, not really so far in the future, I will be in their position. But, for now, I can honor them and hope that it will in some small measure give them a place in my family's history. They are: Phyllis Collen Burgess: November 25, 1931 - February 28, 1933 Loretta Jean Fisher: March 16, 1936 - March 16, 1936 Lawrence Earl Fisher: March 27, 1917 - March 3, 1951 Contact UsIf you have any questions or comments about the information on this site, please contact us.
